Minimum wage in Poland 2027: 4,950 zł gross, 32.30 zł per hour
Short answer: From 1 January 2027 the minimum wage in Poland is 4,950 zł gross per month and 32.30 zł per hour (Dz.U. 2026 poz. 1213), up 144 zł from 4,806 zł in 2026. Proposed tax changes are not law yet.

The Council of Ministers has set Poland's minimum wage for 2027. From 1 January 2027 the monthly minimum will be 4,950 zł gross and the minimum hourly rate for people on certain civil-law contracts will be 32.30 zł. The figures are in a regulation dated 14 September 2026 and published in the Journal of Laws the next day (Dz.U. 2026 item 1213). This article explains what the regulation says, what it means compared with 2026, and what is still only a draft.
What the regulation says
The regulation of the Council of Ministers of 14 September 2026 sets two amounts from 1 January 2027:
- the minimum monthly wage for work: 4,950 zł
- the minimum hourly rate: 32.30 zł
It enters into force on 1 January 2027. The amounts are gross, which means before social insurance contributions and income tax are deducted. What you receive in your account will be lower, depending on your contract and tax situation. See our guide to reading a Polish payslip.
Compared with 2026
For 2026 the minimum wage is 4,806 zł gross, as in our guide to the 2026 rates. The 2027 amount is 144 zł higher per month, an increase of about 3 percent. That is our own calculation from the two official amounts.
Who it applies to
The monthly minimum is the floor for pay under an employment contract (umowa o pracę), and the hourly rate applies to some people who work under civil-law contracts, such as a contract of mandate (zlecenie). The exact scope, and how it works for part-time staff, is set in the Act on the minimum wage, so check which rule covers your contract. The contract type also affects insurance and rights, so see our guide to the differences between contract types before you sign.
If your employer pays less than the minimum, you can report it to the State Labour Inspectorate (PIP). Our guide to PIP explains how.
What else depends on the minimum wage
Several other amounts in Polish law are tied to the minimum wage. As one example, the new Labour Code rules on mobbing that take effect on 5 November 2026 set the minimum compensation at six times the minimum monthly wage. With the 2026 amount that is 28,836 zł. The wage in force at the time of the award is what counts, so the figure could be higher if the award is made after 1 January 2027. Check each rule for how it is calculated.
What is still a draft
On 29 September 2026 the government adopted the draft 2027 budget and a package of tax changes. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the draft would raise the first tax threshold to 130,000 zł and introduce a 24 percent rate for income between 130,000 and 150,000 zł. These are government proposals and not yet law. They need to pass Parliament, so do not plan around them until they are published in the Journal of Laws. The draft budget also assumes inflation of 2.8 percent and GDP growth of 3 percent in 2027, according to the same page.
The draft 2027 budget in brief
The same government page says the draft budget keeps the main social programmes, including 800+, Aktywny Rodzic, the supporting benefit, the widow's pension and the 13th and 14th pensions. It plans 274 billion zł for healthcare, which is about 26 billion more than in 2026, and about 46 billion zł for science and higher education. Defence spending is planned at 198 billion zł, above 4.5 percent of GDP. As a draft, these amounts can change in Parliament.
What to do
- If you are on the minimum wage, expect the new amount from your January 2027 payroll, and check your payslip.
- If you hire a cleaner, nanny or other worker on a zlecenie contract, check that the hourly rate is at least 32.30 zł from 1 January 2027.
- Employers should update contracts, payroll systems and any pay bands tied to the minimum wage.
