Ełk Public Transport 2026: MZK Tickets From PLN 2.80, 30-Day PLN 84

Ełk, the main town of Poland's Masurian lake district, has city buses run by MZK Ełk. Its price list is unusual: the basic city ticket lasts 40 minutes and costs PLN 2.80, one of the lowest fares among Polish cities of its size. The prices below come from the official MZK Ełk page, which says they have applied since 1 April 2024. Checked on 20 October 2026.
City tickets (zone 1)
The city zone is the built-up area of Ełk, marked on the price list by a set of boundary stops. Within it:
- 40-minute ticket: PLN 2.80 normal, PLN 1.40 reduced
- Carnet of three 40-minute tickets: PLN 8.40 normal, PLN 4.20 reduced
- Carnet of six 40-minute tickets: PLN 15.40 normal, PLN 7.70 reduced
- 24-hour ticket: PLN 8.00 normal, PLN 4.00 reduced
- Weekend ticket: PLN 10.00 normal, PLN 5.00 reduced
For a visitor, the weekend ticket is the best value if you plan to move around between the lake, the railway station and the old town on Saturday and Sunday.

A named ticket belongs to one person. A bearer ticket can be used by anyone, which is why it costs PLN 30 more for 30 days.
Ełk commune and zones 2 and 3
Outside the city, the price depends on how many zones you cross. Zone 2 covers villages such as Bartosze, Szeligi and Straduny, and zone 3 covers places further out such as Bajtkowo and Mostołty. A single ticket for zones 1 and 2 costs PLN 3.80 normal and PLN 1.90 reduced. For zones 1, 2 and 3 it costs PLN 4.60 normal and PLN 2.30 reduced, and the same price applies when you buy it from the driver. A 30-day named ticket costs PLN 100 for zones 1 and 2 and PLN 110 for zones 1 to 3.
How the single ticket works
A single ticket entitles you to ride one vehicle, from the moment a paper ticket is validated or an electronic ticket is bought in the mobile app, until you leave the vehicle within the zones on the ticket. A time ticket lets you change buses within its validity.
