Grudziądz, a city on the Vistula in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, is one of the few smaller Polish cities that still runs trams as well as buses. Both are operated by Miejski Zakład Komunikacji (MZK). The prices below come from the official price list published by the city transport department (Wydział Transportu) for tariffs in force from 1 September 2026, and from an MZK notice dated 26 June 2026. All prices are gross, in PLN.

Where the tickets are valid

Single, family, group and period tickets are valid in the city of Grudziądz and in the neighbouring municipality of Rogóźno. Two reduced single tickets can be combined to make one normal ticket, and a normal ticket can replace two reduced ones.

Single and time tickets

A normal single ticket costs PLN 3.80 and a reduced one PLN 1.90. A 60-minute ticket costs PLN 4.40 normal and PLN 2.20 reduced, and allows unlimited rides for that hour. A 24-hour ticket costs PLN 9.80 normal and PLN 4.90 reduced. For both time tickets the price list says you must have the validator print the time on the ticket, because validity is counted from that time.

Multi-ride booklets (karnety) are sold as 6-coupon and 12-coupon versions: PLN 19 and PLN 38 normal, PLN 9.50 and PLN 19 reduced. A family ticket for one ride is PLN 8.80 and covers two adults with up to three children aged up to 16. A group ticket for an organised group costs PLN 21 for up to 20 people and PLN 26 for 21 to 30 people.

30-day and 90-day passes

The 30-day pass is valid for 30 days from the start date you choose at purchase, except that a pass bought on the first day of a month runs to the last day of that month. It comes in an all-days version and a Monday to Friday version.

  • All days: PLN 98 normal, PLN 49 reduced (50%), PLN 24.50 at the 75% rate with the Grudziądz Large Family Card.
  • Monday to Friday: PLN 84 normal, PLN 42 at 50%, PLN 21 at 75%.
  • Bearer pass (usable by anyone): PLN 112, normal rate only.

The 90-day pass costs PLN 266 normal and PLN 133 reduced for all days, and PLN 224 normal and PLN 112 reduced for Monday to Friday. Period passes are invalid unless they carry the number of a school ID, or the series and number of an ID card, or a control number. Passes keep their validity for the period bought even if prices change later.

You can no longer buy from the driver

From 1 July 2026 you cannot buy a ticket from a bus driver or tram driver in Grudziądz, according to the MZK notice of 26 June 2026. Tickets are sold through these channels:

  • validators with contactless card payment in every bus and tram,
  • the Grudziądz City Card passenger portal at bilety.grudziadz.pl and the Grudziądzka Karta Miejska app,
  • third-party apps SkyCash, GoPay, MoBilet and zbiletem.pl, and bank apps that offer public transport tickets,
  • ticket machines at stops, and machines in trams numbered 95, 96, 97 and 98, which still sell paper tickets,
  • the website gopay24.eu, with a QR code,
  • passenger service points at the Alfa shopping centre, ul. Chełmińska 4 (Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00) and at the Tarpno terminus, ul. Legionów 71 B (Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 15:00).

Fines

The price list sets these additional fees. Travelling without a valid ticket costs PLN 247, or PLN 123.50 if paid within 7 days of the notice. Travelling without a document that proves a free or reduced fare right costs PLN 171, or PLN 85.50 within 7 days. Carrying items that are banned or only allowed under special conditions costs PLN 152, or PLN 76 within 7 days. Stopping or changing the route of a vehicle without reason costs PLN 570. If a fee is cancelled or refunded, a handling charge of PLN 17.10 applies, payable within 7 days of the ride.

What it means for expats

Because the driver no longer sells tickets, the easiest way for a newcomer is to tap a contactless bank card on the validator or use a ticket app. If you ride daily, a Monday to Friday 30-day pass at PLN 84 is cheaper than the all-days pass at PLN 98. The sources do not say whether foreign residents can obtain the reduced fares or the Large Family Card, so confirm eligibility at a service point. Fare inspection is carried out by an external company on behalf of MZK, so keep the ticket until you leave the vehicle.
