Town hall and market square in Jarosław under a cloudy sky

Jarosław, the historic town in the Subcarpathian region near the Ukrainian border, runs its city buses through PWiK, the municipal water company. A new fare tariff was introduced under city council resolution 294/XXII/2025 and announced by PWiK on 23 October 2025. The prices below come from that announcement and were checked on 20 October 2026.

Tickets in the city

  • Single ticket, normal: PLN 4.00
  • Single ticket, reduced: PLN 2.00
  • 5-hour ticket, normal: PLN 6.00
  • 5-hour ticket, reduced: PLN 3.00

Tickets outside the city limits

For routes that leave the town:

  • Single ticket, normal: PLN 5.00
  • Single ticket, reduced: PLN 2.50
  • 5-hour ticket, normal: PLN 7.00
  • 5-hour ticket, reduced: PLN 3.50

Monthly tickets became 30-day tickets

The change replaced calendar monthly tickets with 30-day tickets. A 30-day ticket is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase, regardless of the start of the month, so you no longer lose value by buying in the middle of a month. Details of the tariff and the sale of 30-day tickets are available at the Passenger Service Point (Biuro Obsługi Pasażera) and by phone at 16 621 43 82.

Which ticket to choose

If you plan a single return trip in the city, two single tickets cost PLN 8.00, so the PLN 6.00 five-hour ticket is cheaper whenever you make the return within five hours. For commuters, the 30-day ticket is now more flexible than the old monthly ticket, because its 30 days start on the day you buy it.

Reduced fares and entitlements

The reduced ticket costs exactly half of the normal price at every level, in the city and outside it. As elsewhere in Poland, the statutory reduction covers, among others, pupils and students up to 26 with a valid school or student ID, so carry the document whenever you buy or use a reduced ticket. The full list of entitlements, including free rides for the statutory groups, is part of the council tariff and can be confirmed at the Passenger Service Point.

Why the tariff changed

PWiK gives two reasons for the new price list: the changes in the legal framework and the need to match prices to the real cost of running the buses, while keeping the service available to the people of Jarosław. The resolution behind the change, number 294/XXII/2025, was passed by the Jarosław city council, and the operator published the practical details in its announcement of 23 October 2025.

About the operator

The buses are operated by PWiK Jarosław (Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji), based at ul. Hetmana Jana Tarnowskiego 28, 37-500 Jarosław, open Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 15:00.
