Kalisz public transport 2026: KLA tickets 4 zł, 6 zł hour, 7 zł day
Short answer: A Kalisz city single bus ticket costs 4 zł full and 2 zł reduced, a one-hour ticket 6 zł and a day ticket 7 zł, per KLA's price page valid from 1 January 2023. Buy from the driver, the app or machines.

Kalisz, in Greater Poland, is served by one city bus operator, Kaliskie Linie Autobusowe (KLA). The tariff is simple: a 4 zł city ticket, a 6 zł one-hour ticket and a 7 zł day ticket. There is a free-ride rule for holders of the Kalisz Resident Card. This page summarises the price list on the KLA website and a KLA guide on the local news portal portalkalisz.pl dated 17 May 2026, both read on 19 October 2026.
Ticket prices
KLA's own price page is headed "valid from 1 January 2023", so check it again before you rely on the amounts. It lists these fares:
- City single ticket: 4.00 zł full, 2.00 zł reduced.
- City one-hour ticket: 6.00 zł full, 3.00 zł reduced. It allows unlimited rides on all lines within Kalisz for one hour from purchase (from the driver or in the phone app).
- One-day ticket: 7.00 zł full, 3.50 zł reduced. Unlimited rides on all lines inside the city on the day you validate it or buy it in the app.
- Suburban single ticket: 5.00 zł full, 2.50 zł reduced.
The reduced fare is 50% of the full price. Pets, luggage, prams and bicycles travel free of charge. The stop Szczypiorno NS in the direction of Skalmierzyce counts as part of the city zone. Tickets cannot be combined with each other, and only KLA tickets, on paper or electronic, are valid on KLA buses.
Weekly, monthly and quarterly passes
The KLA e-ticket page confirms that weekly and monthly tickets exist and that they do not need to be activated in the app. The price page we read did not show current amounts for them. Another KLA page lists pass prices, but it uses a different layout and a different set of prices, and nothing on it says when it applies, so we do not repeat those numbers here. Ask the Customer Service Point or check the app for the current price of a pass.
Who rides free or with a discount
The portalkalisz.pl guide lists the following groups. It is a news portal, not the operator, so treat the list as a guide and confirm with KLA:
- Free: people over 70, children up to 4, people with a significant disability, holders of a valid Kalisz Resident Card, and honorary blood donors who have given at least 15 litres (women) or 18 litres (men).
- 50% off: pupils up to the age of 24 and university students.
The KLA price page also has a note that the Kalisz Resident Card is valid. None of these sources says whether foreign residents can get the Resident Card, so ask the city office if you want to apply.
The KLA electronic card
The Electronic Card (KE) works as a single-ride wallet and, in its named version, as a carrier for period tickets. A bearer card works only for single rides. You apply at the Customer Service Point at ul. Podmiejska 2A, at the bus station, with an application, one photo (it can be taken there for free) and a fee of 15 zł. The card is expected to last around 10 years. You tap it on the reader when you board and again when you get off. If you forget to tap out, the system charges the highest fare on that line. The minimum cash top-up at the driver is 5 zł.
Where to buy
- From the driver: city one-hour tickets, and suburban tickets valid for the current ride only.
- In the mobile app: buy before you travel and activate straight away after boarding by scanning the QR code on the KLA sticker near the doors. Tickets do not activate automatically.
- Ticket machines at selected stops, for example Chopina 01, Bankowa 01 and Podmiejska Rondo 02.
- Sales points such as KLA at Nowy Rynek 5 and the post office Kalisz 1 at ul. Zamkowa 18-20.
The Customer Service Point is open on Monday from 7:30 to 17:00 and Tuesday to Friday from 7:30 to 15:30. Phone: +48 62 768 00 91.
Routes and the night bus
The portal says KLA runs 22 daytime lines and one night line, N1, with the current line layout in force since 3 November 2025. Timetables change, so use the KLA site for the current route list.
