Katowice Airport to city: bus AP, train and ZTM ticket prices 2026
Short answer: Bus AP runs from Katowice Sądowa and Dworzec to the airport. A single 120-minute ZTM ticket is 7.00 zl paper or 6.60 zl electronic (full fare, tariff of 1 Jan 2026).
Katowice Airport sits in Pyrzowice, about 30 km north of Katowice city centre, so you need a plan to reach it. The cheapest option for most travellers is the airport bus AP, which runs on the regional public transport network and accepts the standard ZTM tickets. A train station also serves the terminals. Bus AP: the public transport option
The timetable on the Transport GZM site shows line AP, valid from 5 October 2026 and operated by Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji Miejskiej Katowice. In the direction of the airport the stops are:
- Katowice Sądowa (stop 2B)
- Katowice Dworzec (stop 10)
- Katowice Sokolska (stop 3)
- Katowice Strefa Kultury (stop 1)
- Pyrzowice Port Lotniczy (Katowice Airport)
The metropolitan transport authority ZTM describes the AP line as running between Katowice Sądowa and Pyrzowice airport. It also lists metropolitan lines M11 (Katowice, Siemianowice Śląskie, Piekary Śląskie, Wojkowice, Bobrowniki and Ożarowice), M14 (Gliwice, Zabrze, Bytom, Tarnowskie Góry and other towns) and M19 (Sosnowiec, Będzin and nearby). What the ticket costs
The ZTM tariff effective 1 January 2026 sets the following prices for a single 120-minute ticket that allows transfers:
- Paper ticket, validated on board: 7.00 zl full, 3.50 zl reduced.
- Electronic ticket, bought in an app: 6.60 zl full, 3.30 zl reduced (listed as a promotional electronic price in the tariff).
- Group ticket for up to five people, 120 minutes: 13.80 zl on paper, 12.80 zl electronic.
A local travel blog for the Katowice rail area quotes the same 6.60 zl and 7 zl figures for the airport trip, which matches the tariff. The tariff also allows ZTM to change promotions for up to six months by separate order, so check the price in the app on the day.
The reduced fare needs proof of entitlement. If you are unsure whether you qualify, ask before you travel, as an unvalidated or wrongly reduced ticket can lead to a fine.

By train to Pyrzowice Lotnisko
According to the airport's website, the Pyrzowice Lotnisko railway station is about 500 metres from the passenger terminals, with an asphalt footpath between them. The station is roofed and adapted for passengers with disabilities. The airport page lists these services:
- S9: Częstochowa to Chorzów Batory, via Zawiercie, Pyrzowice Lotnisko, Tarnowskie Góry and Bytom.
- Intercity "Sztygar" and "Morcinek": Katowice to Lublin Główny, via Bytom, Tarnowskie Góry, Pyrzowice Lotnisko, Kielce and Radom.
- RegioJet: Prague to Warsaw, via Ostrava, Gliwice, Pyrzowice Lotnisko and Zawiercie.
A news item from the airport dated July 2025 added two more Koleje Śląskie lines, S14 (Gliwice to Pyrzowice Lotnisko, weekdays, five pairs of trains a day at that time) and S18 (Gliwice to Pyrzowice via Katowice and Sosnowiec). That news is more than a year old, so confirm both lines in the current rail timetable. The number of trains varies by day and by operator, so a train is not always the easiest option from the city centre.
Other options
The airport also lists an official taxi operator, car rental companies and private bus companies on its access pages. The private bus page loads its timetable only through a search filter, so we could not read the services from it. A travel blog mentions a private bus from the Sądowa interchange at 20 zl when booked online, but we could not confirm this from an official source, so treat that price as unverified.
