Kielce runs its city buses through the Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego (ZTM Kielce). If you are new to the city, the fare system is easy to read once you know the four things that set a price: the zone, the ticket type, whether you pay full or reduced fare, and whether you pay on paper or electronically. This guide uses the official ZTM Kielce price list, which is an annex to resolution LXVIII/1372/2022 of the Kielce City Council dated 17 November 2022. As of 18 October 2026 that is the price list ZTM publishes on its site. A local news site (odkryjkielce.pl, 3 July 2026) says it checked the same PDF on 26 June 2026 and found the same figures. Prices set by a council resolution can change, so check ztm.kielce.pl before you buy a long-term pass.

Single and day tickets

The single ticket is valid for 60 minutes from the first validation, and you can change buses within that time. In zone 1, which covers the city itself, it costs 4.00 zł at full price. A ticket for zones 1 and 2, which you need if your line goes beyond the city boundary, costs 5.00 zł. The price list also sets a day ticket at 14.00 zł for zone 1 and 16.00 zł for zones 1 and 2. The reduced fares are half of these amounts, according to the local news report. We did not find the reduced-fare column in the part of the PDF we could read, so treat that as secondary-source information.

A day ticket pays off when you plan four or more single rides in zone 1 in the same day (4 x 4.00 zł = 16.00 zł, a calculated figure that is more than 14.00 zł). For three rides or fewer, single tickets are cheaper.

Electronic tickets by number of stops

Kielce also has an electronic ticket where the price depends on how many stops you ride. The official list gives 3.20 zł, 3.40 zł, 3.60 zł and 3.80 zł for the four stop bands, from the shortest to the longest rides. This is cheaper than the 4.00 zł single ticket on short hops. You must register both entering and leaving the vehicle, so do not forget the second validation.

Passes for regular travel

For daily commuting, the price list sets named periodic tickets for zone 1 at full price:

  • 14 days: 68 zł
  • 30 days: 120 zł
  • 60 days: 206 zł
  • 90 days: 288 zł

A named ticket belongs to one person and is only valid with that person's identity. If you ride every working day, a 30-day pass at 120 zł comes to about 5.45 zł per day over 22 working days (calculated), which is a good deal compared with paying 4.00 zł twice a day.

Resident discount: the PIT condition

Kielce has a cheaper 30-day pass for residents, 108 zł in zone 1 at full price. The official price list ties this to tax residence in Kielce, meaning your annual PIT tax return is filed with a Kielce tax office. This matters for foreigners who live in the city but file elsewhere, or who have not yet filed a return in Poland. Having a registered address alone is not what the list describes. If you are in doubt, ask ZTM Kielce which proof they accept before you buy.

Fines and reduced fares

Riding without a valid ticket costs 50 times the price of the cheapest full-price single ticket, which is 200 zł at today's 4.00 zł (calculated). Riding without a document that proves a reduced fare or free travel costs 40 times that price, so 160 zł (calculated). The list reduces these fines by 30 percent if you pay within 7 days. Always keep proof of your entitlement with you if you use a reduced fare, because buying the ticket is not enough.

What may change

The 2022 resolution is still the price list on the ZTM site, but Kielce press reported in January 2026 on plans for a new city card from 2027. We have not seen an official tariff change, so nothing in this guide depends on it.
