Koszalin, on the Baltic coast in West Pomerania, runs its city buses through the municipal transport company MZK. Its tariff has two zones, and the second one reaches the seaside resort of Mielno. This guide uses the MZK Koszalin ticket price page (read on 18 October 2026) and the company's notice about the changes from 1 September 2025, published 29 July 2025. One caution up front: the headings on the price page carry dates in 2025 ("from 01.06.2025" for zone A and "from 01.09.2025" for zone B), so we cannot say when the page was last checked. Confirm the price on the MZK website before you buy a season ticket. The sources do not address foreigners.

Zone A: the city and two nearby routes

Zone A covers the administrative area of Koszalin and the routes Koszalin to Konikowo and Koszalin to Niekłonice. Every ticket is valid on all lines in the zone. According to the page, you must validate it right after boarding, on your first ride.

* single ticket, or 30-minute time ticket: 4.40 zł (reduced 2.20 zł), * book of 11 tickets: 44.00 zł (reduced 22.00 zł), * 60-minute ticket: 5.60 zł (reduced 2.80 zł), * 24-hour ticket: 12.00 zł (reduced 6.00 zł).

The single ticket is good for one bus journey regardless of how long it takes. The 30-minute ticket allows unlimited rides on different buses from the moment you validate it.

Season tickets

The 30-day ticket for zone A costs 118.00 zł (reduced 59.00 zł). The company's notice says this is 10 zł more than before and works out at 3.93 zł per day. All season tickets are named. A ticket is valid only when it carries the number of an identity document with a photo. The page gives as examples an ID card, a passport or a school or student card. In a ticket check you must show the ticket together with the document whose number is written on it, and the passenger is responsible for entering the number. For small children, the page says to write the child's name and PESEL.

Longer tickets, for 90, 180 and 360 days, are sold only to holders of the Koszalin Resident Card "Kocham Koszalin":

* 90 days: 270 zł (reduced 135 zł), * 180 days: 510 zł (reduced 255 zł), * 360 days: 980 zł (reduced 490 zł).

They are sold in the GoPay and Mobilna Karta Miejska apps, on the website gopay24.pl/buy and at stationary ticket machines, according to the page. We did not find the conditions for getting the resident card on the pages we read, so ask MZK or the city before you count on it.

Zone B: Mielno, Bonin and Świeszyno

Zone B covers the routes Koszalin to Chałupy to Świeszyno, Koszalin to Bonin and Koszalin to Mielno. Tickets bought for this zone are valid in both zones. The page lists:

* single ticket or 60-minute ticket: 5.60 zł (reduced 2.80 zł), * 24-hour ticket: 14.00 zł (reduced 7.00 zł), * 30-day ticket: 136.00 zł (reduced 68.00 zł).

The page also lists tickets that include a ship crossing. A single crossing costs 30.00 zł (reduced 15.00 zł), or 15.00 zł (reduced 7.50 zł) for resident card holders, and taking a bicycle on the ship costs 10.00 zł. A 120-minute ticket for buses and ships costs 36.00 zł, a 24-hour one 60.00 zł and a 30-day one 500.00 zł. Check the route and the season before you plan around the ship, as the page does not give its timetable.

Free rides

The 2025 notice describes new rules from 1 September 2025. Everyone aged 70 and over can ride free, whatever their place of residence, by carrying an identity document with a photo that shows their age. Before that, the right applied only to Koszalin residents with the resident card. Pupils who finished the 8th grade at a Koszalin primary school can ride free until 30 September with a valid school card.
