Kraków Lotnisko train station

Kraków's airport (Kraków Airport, in Balice) has its own railway station, a covered walkway from the terminal and city buses, all published on the airport's website. This guide sets out the options for getting between the airport and the city as of 16 October 2026, with the fares the airport and the regional rail operator list. For the city's own ticket system once you arrive, see the separate guide on Kraków public transport tickets on this site.

Option 1: the train

The airport station is called Kraków Lotnisko (Kraków Airport). According to the airport's page, the stop is right next to the terminal, behind the multi-storey car park, and a covered pedestrian walkway connects it to the terminal.

The trains are run by Koleje Małopolskie on the SKA1 route: Wieliczka Rynek Kopalnia, Kraków Główny (the main station) and Kraków Lotnisko. The operator's own station list for this line includes Kraków Łobzów, Bronowice, Młynówka, Zakliki and Olszanica between the main station and the airport, and Grzegórzki, Zabłocie, Płaszów, Prokocim, Bieżanów and Wieliczka Park on the other side of the city centre. The airport says each train has at least 138 seats, air conditioning, power sockets, Wi-Fi and ticket machines, plus reserved places for passengers with disabilities.

The airport lists these single fares:

  • Kraków Lotnisko to Kraków Główny: 20.00 zł
  • Kraków Lotnisko to Wieliczka Rynek Kopalnia: 24.00 zł

You can buy tickets from the machine on the train (cash or card), from a sales point on the platform at the Kraków Lotnisko station (cash or card), on the Koleje Małopolskie website, or in some electronic channels such as KOLEO and Jakdojade. The airport says the platform sales point is open from 8:10 to 19:45. The Koleje Małopolskie helpline is 12 288 82 00, open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 to 15:30 except holidays.

The airport also notes that the station is fully adapted for passengers with disabilities and that a disabled traveller gets help from leaving the train to taking a seat on the plane.

Option 2: city buses

According to the airport, the regular bus lines serving Kraków Airport are 209 and 300, and the night line is 902. They are agglomeration lines, which matters for the ticket you buy. The bus stop is near the passenger terminal. A second operator, Adam Tours, runs on the route Kraków Airport, Szczyglice, Mydlniki Wapiennik and Zabierzów Młyn.

The current departures appear on the screen near the information desk in the main hall, and the timetables are linked from the airport page.

Bus fares

The airport publishes the agglomeration ticket prices per person:

  • 15-minute: 4.00 zł normal, 2.00 zł reduced

Tickets are sold at the ticket machine in the terminal, arrivals hall, level 0, at the machine at the bus stop (cash or card) and, according to the airport, at the machines on the buses (card). The airport reminds passengers that the ticket must be validated when boarding.

Which one to choose

On the published prices, the bus is cheaper for one person: a 90-minute agglomeration ticket costs 9.00 zł against 20.00 zł for the train to Kraków Główny. The train lists luggage as free and goes to the main station, which is where intercity trains and coaches arrive. If you plan to ride more on the same day, compare the train fare with a 24-hour agglomeration ticket at 20.00 zł (zone I) or 25.00 zł (zones I+II+III), and check which zones your trip crosses before buying.

For a late flight, the airport lists night bus 902. It does not publish a night train on its page, so check the operator's timetable on the day.

Practical points

  • the airport says baggage travels free on the train, and a dog costs 3.00 zł
  • the machine on the train accepts cash and cards
  • validate the bus ticket as you board
  • check live departures on the hall screen or the operator's timetable, because lines and times change
