Łódź public transport tickets and prices 2026: MPK fares
Short answer: A Łódź 20-minute ticket costs 4.40 PLN, 80 minutes 6.80 PLN. Since 1 January 2026 you can also pay per stop in the app, from 1 PLN for the first stop.

What this covers
Since 1 January 2026 riders in Łódź can pay per stop instead of buying a time ticket. This guide lists the fares on the official pages of the City of Łódź and the transport company MPK Łódź, as read on 17 October 2026. The main price list is dated 1 March 2025. The City page also says it applies, with the stop-based fare added from 1 January 2026. Prices can change, so check the app before you travel.
Time tickets
These tickets work on buses and trams in Łódź, in both tariff zones, and let you change vehicles. The time spent changing counts towards the limit. Prices in PLN, from the MPK Łódź price list effective 1 March 2025:
up to 20 minutes: 4.40 normal, 2.20 reduced;
up to 40 minutes: 5.60 normal, 2.80 reduced;
up to 80 minutes: 6.80 normal, 3.40 reduced;
24 hours: 18.00 normal, 9.00 reduced.
MPK Łódź says you can combine tickets of different values to make up the fare for the time you need. A paper ticket must be validated at once on entering the vehicle. A ticket bought in the app must be bought before the vehicle leaves the stop and activated straight away.
Pay per stop, from 1 January 2026
The City of Łódź says the stop-based tariff has run since 1 January 2026 as an addition to the time and periodic tickets. You choose which one to use. For a short hop of three or four stops it can be cheaper than the 4.40 PLN ticket, according to the City.
The fares per stop travelled, normal and reduced:
first stop: 1.00 and 0.50;
second to 19th stop: 0.50 and 0.25 per stop.
The City page lists a separate price from the 20th stop, but the figure did not appear in the text we read, so check it in the app. The tariff attachment adopted by the city council in December 2025 also sets these fees, and we did not verify the final numbers beyond the City page.
How it works: you need the MigAppka or Łódź.pl app. You scan the QR code by the vehicle door to start, and tap "Zakończ podróż" (end trip) when you get off. If you forget, the system charges no more than 10 PLN, according to the City. It works in vehicles that send their position. On bus lines 6, 61, 201 and 202, which are run by other local governments, it may not work. It does not work on trains.
Monthly and yearly tickets
The periodic ticket is called Migawka. MigAppka's Migawka page lists prices for zone 1, which is the city itself, on all lines:
30-day, named ticket: 168 PLN normal, 84 PLN reduced. With a Karta Łodzianina it is 140 and 70 PLN;
30-day ticket to the bearer, transferable: 252 PLN normal, 126 PLN reduced;
90-day named ticket: 414 PLN normal, or 344 PLN with the card;
12-month named ticket: 1,490 PLN normal, or 1,110 PLN with the card.
The City's ticket page says 30-day and 12-month tickets are available only to holders of the Karta Łodzianina, while the Migawka page also shows prices without the card. The two pages do not agree, so ask MPK or check in the app before paying for a year in advance. The City page notes that a period ticket works out at roughly 3 PLN a day.

Children and seniors
Children under 4 travel free, according to the City of Łódź. A junior ticket is for children from age 4 to the end of primary school. Seniors aged 65 to 70 can buy a senior ticket, and from age 70 travel is free. The named junior 30-day ticket costs 15 PLN and the senior one 38 PLN in zone 1, according to the Migawka page.
One ticket for trains too
MPK Łódź says a time or periodic ticket also lets you travel on Łódź Kolej Aglomeracyjna (ŁKA) and POLREGIO trains inside the city, between the stations Łódź Radogoszcz Zachód, Radogoszcz Wschód, Andrzejów and Lublinek.
