Malbork Castle tickets 2026-27: 80 zl, free Monday route, hours
Short answer: Historical Route is 80 zl full, 60 zl reduced (1 Oct 2026 to 25 Apr 2027), last entry 12:45. Mondays offer a free grounds route, collected on site only.

Malbork Castle, the largest brick castle in the world, is a day trip from Gdańsk, and its visiting rules change with the season. The Castle Museum in Malbork has switched to its autumn and winter schedule, which affects both hours and the route you can take. This guide uses the museum's own ticket page, checked on 18 October 2026 and showing the period from 1 October 2026 to 25 April 2027.
Hours in the autumn and winter season
For the season running from 1 October 2026 to 25 April 2027, the museum lists:
- Castle Route, Historical: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 to 16:00. Last entry at 12:45.
- Walking Route: Tuesday to Sunday, 13:30 to 16:00. Last entry at 14:30.
- Interiors and exhibitions close at 15:00.
- On Mondays, the Walking Route is available from 9:00 to 16:00, with last entry at 14:30.
The page states that entries are limited to 500 people per hour and encourages buying tickets in advance.
Historical Route: prices and what is included
The Historical Route covers the whole castle and includes the Walking Route. You must tour it with a guide or an audio guide. The tour starts on the museum's 60th Anniversary Square, by the ticket offices. The listed prices:
- Full ticket: 80 zl.
- Reduced ticket: 60 zl.
- Family ticket, for families with children aged 7 to 18 and one or two adults (minimum one adult and one child): 70 zl per adult, 60 zl per child.
- Holders of the Malbork resident card or the volunteer card: 20 zl.
- Children under 7: free, but they should collect a "0" ticket at the museum's ticket office.
The price includes a Polish-language guide, with groups leaving every 30 minutes, or an audio guide. The audio guide languages are Polish, English, English as a Second Language, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Czech, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Hungarian and Polish Sign Language. You choose the language when you pick up the device. The page does not say who qualifies for the reduced ticket, so ask at the ticket office. A private guide costs 350 zl and needs a prior booking by email at [email protected], giving the date, time, number of visitors, a phone number and language. In that case group prices apply, and you should not buy tickets online. The museum honours the Pomeranian Tourist Card.
Free Mondays
The museum says Monday is a day of free admission to the Castle Museum. On that day only the "Castle Route - Grounds" is available. You need to collect a free ticket at the ticket office, and the page states the ticket is available only on site, not online. The grounds route covers parts of the outer castle, the gate passages, the courtyards of the Middle and High Castle, St Anne's Chapel, the terraces with the Grand Masters' garden, the moats and the space between the walls. It does not include the chambers and exhibitions.

A shorter family option
A version for families with children and an audio guide, as a self-guided tour, is a shortened version of the whole complex and also leaves out the chambers and exhibitions. The page we read does not show its price, and it lists a "Family Route - Holiday" aimed at children and parents. Check the museum's page for the current prices of those options before you go.
Planning a visit
Start early in the autumn and winter season, because the Historical Route has its last entry at 12:45 and interiors close at 15:00. Tuesday to Sunday, the Walking Route begins only at 13:30. The page gives these phone numbers for the museum: +48 55 647 08 00, +48 55 647 09 02 and +48 55 647 09 78, at ul. Starościńska 1, 82-200 Malbork.
What the sources do not say
The page gives no publication date, but it names the 2026 to 2027 season. We could not read the price of the Walking Route, who can use the reduced ticket, or how to reach Malbork by train, so this guide does not cover those. The sources do not describe special rules for foreigners.
