Mielec in south-eastern Poland, known for its aviation industry, has city and suburban buses run by MKS Mielec. The tariff depends on ticket zones: zone 0 is the city itself, zone 1 is the suburban area of Mielec commune, and zone 2 covers neighbouring communes. The prices below are from the official MKS Mielec price page, checked on 20 October 2026.
Single and day tickets
Prices are shown for zones 0+1 (the city and the suburban zone of Mielec commune) and for zones 0+1+2:
- Single ticket, paper, bought from the driver, paid by contactless bank card or saved on an electronic card without registering the exit: PLN 3.60 normal and PLN 1.80 reduced (zones 0+1); PLN 4.80 and PLN 2.40 (zones 0+1+2)
- Single ticket with a transfer within zone 0, for electronic card users who register their exit: PLN 3.00 normal and PLN 1.50 reduced (zones 0+1); PLN 4.00 and PLN 2.00 (zones 0+1+2)
- Day ticket, paper, from the driver, all zones: PLN 9.60 normal and PLN 4.80 reduced
You can pay for a single ticket with a contactless bank card on newer buses. MKS says all new Autosan and Solaris Urbino 10.5 buses from fleet number 225 have one validator that accepts it. The ticket paid this way is valid only on the bus where you bought it, and you must pay right after boarding.

30-day tickets
- Named 30-day ticket: PLN 72 normal and PLN 36 reduced for zones 0+1; PLN 108 and PLN 54 for zones 0+1+2
- Bearer 30-day ticket (anyone can use it): PLN 90 for zones 0+1 and PLN 120 for zones 0+1+2, with no reduced version
- Student monthly ticket: PLN 10 for zones 0+1 and PLN 15 for zones 0+1+2
The PLN 10 student price goes to children over four who attend preschool or primary school in Mielec commune, and to full-time secondary students under 21 who live and study in the commune. The PLN 15 price covers other qualifying cases, such as children in Mielec schools who live elsewhere. You need a preschool certificate, a valid school ID or a boarding-house certificate.
Luggage, dogs and fines
Large luggage over 80 x 50 x 30 cm and dogs (except prams, wheelchairs and assistance dogs) are charged at the price of a normal single ticket. Travelling without a valid ticket carries an extra charge of PLN 144, or PLN 100.80 if paid on the spot or within 7 days. Missing proof of a discount costs PLN 108, or PLN 75.60 within 7 days.
