Poznań airport to the city: bus 159, 148, night 222, tickets 2026
Short answer: Take bus 159 or 148 to Poznań Główny, about 21 minutes by timetable. A 45-minute ticket costs 7 zł (3.50 zł reduced). The stop machine takes coins only.

Poznań-Ławica Airport (Henryk Wieniawski Airport) is on the western edge of the city, and city buses connect it with the centre and the main railway station. There is no train to the terminal. This guide uses the airport's own page on getting to the centre, the city transport authority (ZTM Poznań) announcement on lines 148, 159 and 177, and the ZTM price list, all checked in October 2026. Timetables and prices can change, so check ZTM for the live timetable before a tight connection.
The short version
Take bus 159 or 148 from the airport to Poznań Główny railway station. The airport estimates 20 to 25 minutes to the centre, 16 stops, and says the timetable gives 21 minutes to Dworzec Główny. A night line, 222, also serves the airport. Buy a 45-minute ticket for 7 zł if you pay by time, since the trip is longer than the 15-minute ticket covers.
Bus 159 and 148
According to a ZTM announcement valid from 18 April 2026, lines 148 and 159 now run with a shared frequency between Poznań Główny and the airport: every 15 minutes at peak times and every 20 minutes off-peak and at weekends. ZTM says that together this means departures every 7 to 8 minutes at peak times and every 10 minutes off-peak and at weekends from the stops at Poznań Główny, Rondo Kaponiera, Bałtyk and the terminal area.
From the same date, line 148 was extended permanently to the Poznań Główny station, ending and starting on the station square. The route of line 148 passes Dworcowa, Rondo Kaponiera, Roosevelta and Bukowska before reaching the airport. Line 177 also changed its timetable: every 30 minutes at peak and every 40 minutes off-peak and at weekends, according to the same notice. It is not the line the airport recommends for the centre, so use 159 or 148 unless you are going to a district they do not reach.
Where the buses stop
The airport says the bus stops are next to the passenger terminals or a short walk away. Buses start from the departures hall and continue to a stop at the arrivals hall, which is an intermediate stop in the direction of the centre. So arriving passengers board at the arrivals stop, not at departures.
Night line 222
The airport page lists night line 222. Night buses run less often, so look at the ZTM timetable for line 222 before a late arrival or an early flight.
Tickets
The airport says tickets are sold in kiosks in the departures terminal and in a ticket machine at the bus stop in front of the terminal. The machine takes coins only (10 gr, 20 gr, 50 gr, 1 zł, 2 zł and 5 zł) and gives change. More and more vehicles also have machines on board, marked by a sticker at the door. You can also buy a ticket by phone with CallPay, moBILET, mPay or SkyCash.
On the ZTM price list, one-time time tickets cost 5 zł for 15 minutes, 7 zł for 45 minutes and 9 zł for 90 minutes at normal fare, with reduced fares at half price: 2.50 zł, 3.50 zł and 4.50 zł. ZTM states that one-time time tickets are not divided into tariff zones and allow transfers. Zones matter only for 24-hour, 7-day and period tickets. Because the ride is about 21 minutes by timetable, the 45-minute ticket at 7 zł is the one that fits a trip to the centre. Our Poznań fares guide lists zone A 24-hour tickets at 18 zł, if you will make many trips.
Taxi
The airport says a 24-hour taxi rank is at the exit of the arrivals hall, with taxis the airport recommends as trustworthy. No fixed prices are published on that page, so ask for the price or the meter rate before you set off.
