Przemyśl Public Transport 2026: MZK Tickets, Fares, Free Rides
Short answer: In Przemyśl a 45-minute MZK ticket in zone 1 costs PLN 4.00 and a 30-day named ticket PLN 90; prices for combined zones 1 and 2 rose on 1 February 2026, and people aged 70 and over ride free.

Przemyśl, a border city in south-eastern Poland, has bus lines run by the municipal company Miejski Zakład Komunikacji (MZK). The tariff has two ticket zones. Zone 1 is the city within its administrative boundary. Zone 2 is made up of eight villages: Krówniki, Kuńkowce, Łętownia, Ostrów, Prałkowce, Ujkowice, Bełwin and Wapowce. The figures below come from the MZK ticket and discount pages and from an MZK notice dated 20 January 2026 about the tariff change that took effect on 1 February 2026.
What changed on 1 February 2026
The notice, based on city council resolution no. 263/2025 of 15 December 2025, raised the prices of all tickets valid in the combined zones 1 and 2. Tickets for zone 1 alone and for zone 2 alone stayed the same. A 365-day named ticket for zone 1 only was added, and zone 2 was extended to cover all villages of the Przemyśl municipality because of bus timetable changes from 1 January 2026. Paper single tickets and booklets for zones 1 and 2 bought at the old prices stayed valid until 30 April 2026. Refunds were not accepted.
Single and day tickets in zone 1
The MZK price page shows the zone 1 prices before the change, and the notice says they were not changed. A single ticket valid for 45 minutes costs PLN 4.00 normal, PLN 2.60 at the local reduced rate and PLN 2.00 at the 50% statutory rate. A 60-minute ticket costs PLN 4.60 normal and PLN 2.30 statutory. A 24-hour ticket costs PLN 12.00 normal, PLN 8.00 local reduced and PLN 6.00 statutory. A six-ride booklet costs PLN 22.40 normal, PLN 15.20 and PLN 11.20. A 45-minute ticket allows any number of rides in 45 minutes from validation, or one ride of any length.
For travel in both zones the new prices apply: a 45-minute ticket is PLN 5.00 normal, a 60-minute ticket PLN 6.40, a 24-hour ticket PLN 16.00 and a six-ride booklet PLN 28.80.
Period tickets
Zone 1 only, named tickets: 7 days PLN 30, 30 days PLN 90, 90 days PLN 240 and 365 days PLN 699 (the 365-day price is from the notice). The reduced price is half of each. A 30-day bearer ticket that anyone can use costs PLN 135 in zone 1.
For zones 1 and 2 together, the new prices are PLN 43 for 7 days, PLN 110 for 30 days, PLN 303 for 90 days and PLN 806 for 365 days. The 30-day bearer ticket for both zones is PLN 162.

Who rides free or pays less
According to the MZK discount page, travel is free for people aged 70 and over (with an ID document), children under 4, Honorary Blood Donor badge holders, and several disability and veteran groups, with the required documents. The local reduced fare applies to children over 4 until school age, pupils up to the end of secondary school and no later than age 24, pensioners and disability pension holders, and meritorious blood donors. Students and combatants get the 50% statutory discount. There is also a special 30-day named ticket at PLN 11.50 for residents aged 65 and over of Przemyśl, Przemyśl commune and Krasiczyn who receive a pension of up to PLN 1,200 gross. You can prove your identity with the mObywatel app, as the page allows.
Fines
The additional fees are set as multiples of the price of a 45-minute zone 1 ticket. Travelling without valid documents is 35 times that price if paid within 7 days of the check and 50 times after 7 days. With a zone 1 ticket price of PLN 4.00, that works out to PLN 140 and PLN 200. These two amounts are calculated from the rule, not printed by MZK. Using a ticket of too low value is 20 times (PLN 80) or 25 times (PLN 100). Stopping a vehicle without reason is 150 times and changing its route 300 times the price.
What it means for expats
Hand luggage, bicycles and animals can be carried without a ticket, with bikes allowed depending on how full the vehicle is. For daily rides inside the city the named 30-day ticket at PLN 90 is the cheapest regular option. If you live in one of the eight villages and work in the city, check whether you need the combined zone ticket at PLN 110. The sources do not say whether foreign students get the statutory 50% discount on the same terms as Polish students, so ask MZK before you buy a reduced ticket. The price page itself notes that it shows prices valid to 31 January 2026, so check the notice for any later change.
