Rybnik buses 2026: 1 zł rides, 16 zł joint ticket, RYBKA card
Short answer: In Rybnik a ride of up to 3 stops costs 1 zł. Since 1 September 2026 a 16 zł day ticket is valid on buses in both Rybnik and Jastrzębie-Zdrój.

Rybnik, in the Silesian Voivodeship, has a bus system with some unusually cheap options, and since 1 September 2026 it also has a ticket that works in the neighbouring city of Jastrzębie-Zdrój. This guide follows the Rybnik city website (rybnik.eu): news items dated 4 August and 19 August 2026, and the city's bus page, which carries no date. Check the live page before you buy a season ticket. The sources are written for residents in general and do not address foreigners or residence status.
One day ticket for two cities
According to the city, from 1 September 2026 a joint 24-hour ticket ("bilet dobowy MZK - Miasto Rybnik") is valid on buses run by the city of Rybnik and by the inter-municipal transport union MZK in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. It allows an unlimited number of rides and transfers for exactly 24 hours from the moment of purchase. You can buy it from the driver or in the zBiletem.pl app.
The price is 16 zł for a normal ticket and 8 zł for a reduced one. For comparison, the city's bus page lists a 24-hour ticket for Rybnik alone at 12 zł (reduced 6 zł) for travellers without an e-card, so the joint ticket is the one to pick only if you plan to cross between the two cities.
The city says this is a first stage. The partners do not rule out extending the joint offer to single and season tickets later, depending on how residents use it. Nothing is promised in the sources, so do not plan around it.
Rides for 1 zł
The city promotes a ride on any line in zone 0 of no more than 3 stops for 1 zł. On its news page, it explains the steps in the Rybnicka Mobilka app: choose the single ticket option, choose the type of fare reduction, scan the QR code on the vehicle or type its fleet number, choose your entry and exit stops, and pay.
The bus page gives the same 1 zł price for e-card users within the city limits.
Fares with the e-card
The bus page lists the following prices for single rides with the city e-card, which is cheaper than paying without it:
* up to 3 stops within the city: 1.00 zł, * more than 3 stops within the city: 2.40 zł (reduced 1.20 zł), * a ride beyond the city limits: 3.60 zł (reduced 1.80 zł), * a transfer to the next bus within 20 minutes of registering your exit: 0.50 zł.
The system works by checking in and out. When you tap the card on entering, 5 zł is taken from it. When you tap it again on exit, the right amount goes back. If you forget to tap out, the 5 zł stays charged, so tap both times.
Without an e-card, a single ticket costs 5.00 zł (reduced 2.50 zł). The e-card is sold at the City Sales Point at Plac Wolności 14, according to the page.
Season tickets with the RYBKA resident card
Holders of the Rybnik Resident Card (RYBKA) can buy season tickets, which the page lists as follows:
* 30 days: 70 zł (reduced 35 zł), * 90 days: 200 zł (reduced 100 zł), * 180 days: 360 zł (reduced 180 zł).
The news item adds that for named e-card users there is a 30-day school ticket for primary school pupils at 12 zł and one for sports classes at 20 zł. The sources we read do not explain how to get the RYBKA card, so ask at the City Sales Point or check the city website first.

Apps and the vehicles
Two apps sell tickets for Rybnik lines: Rybnicka Mobilka and zBiletem.pl. The city says its fleet includes hydrogen, electric and hybrid buses. Services are run for the city by several operators, including Komunikacja Miejska Rybnik.
For complaints about ticket sales, ticket inspection, extra charges and appeals, stops and timetables, the bus page gives contact routes through the city office at ul. Bolesława Chrobrego 2, tel. 32 439 20 00. The sources we read do not give the amount of the extra charge for riding without a ticket, so check it on the city site before you travel without a valid ticket.
