Single tickets and carnets
Every single ticket is valid for 45 minutes. Bought in advance or at a ticket machine:

Penalty fares
Riding without a valid ticket costs 50 times the price of a normal advance single ticket, which means PLN 200. Riding without a document proving a free or reduced entitlement costs 40 times the single price (PLN 160), and breaking the rules on luggage or animals costs 20 times (PLN 80). A passenger who stops the bus or changes its route without a valid reason pays 150 times the single price. A handling fee of 10% of the penalty applies when a penalty is refunded or written off.

Where to buy tickets
Tickets are sold at 15 points across the town, listed on the city site. They include the MKS cash desk at ul. 1-go Maja 103, Trafika shops at ul. Krasińskiego 18 and ul. Metalowców 1, the MKS point on ul. Norwida by the post office, the ticket point on ul. Niepodległości opposite the railway station, and several kiosks and Monetia points.
Practical tips
- Buy the ticket before boarding when you can: advance and ticket-machine sales carry the full range, including carnets and 24-hour tickets.
- The 10-ride carnet lowers the normal ride price from PLN 4.00 to PLN 3.60, so it pays off for anyone riding more than twice a day a few times a week.
- Keep the ticket for the whole ride, because inspectors can ask for it at any point and the penalty fare is high.
