Free buses for residents

If you are moving to Starachowice
The free transport is tied to living and paying taxes in the town, not to citizenship. A newcomer who registers and pays local taxes can use the buses free of charge with a document confirming this, and the Starachowice City Card works as the most convenient proof. Visitors and people living in neighbouring communes pay the standard fares above.
Reductions and documents
The reduced fares are half of the normal price at every level, from the 60-minute ticket to the 90-day pass. They apply to the statutory groups, such as pupils and students up to 26 with a valid ID. The detailed list of who rides free or at a reduced rate, and the documents that prove each entitlement, is set out in the annexes to the city council resolution and in the transport rules published by ZEC.
About the service
The buses are run by ZEC Starachowice (Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej), the municipal heating company, which publishes the price list and the transport rules on its website. The office phone is 41 274 80 53, Monday to Friday from 6:30 to 14:30. The transport rules were set by the mayor's regulation 314/2023 of 29 June 2023.
