The Wieliczka Salt Mine, just southeast of Kraków, is among the most visited sites in Poland, and its ticket price changes with the season. This guide uses the mine's 2026 ticket sales rules and price list (a PDF published on the operator's site) and its practical information page, all checked on 18 October 2026.
Which season applies
The 2026 price list defines three seasons:

As of 18 October 2026, the low-season prices apply until the end of the year.

People with a disability certificate also pay the discount price, and one caregiver per person can buy a discount ticket too. Children up to 4 enter free, according to the practical information page.
The version of the price list we could read ended partway through the table, and it does not show the price for tours in other languages, the Miners' Route or the Graduation Tower. Check those on the mine's ticket site.
How to buy and when
According to the sales rules, tickets are sold online at bilety.kopalnia.pl, at ticket machines on site, and at the ticket office at the Daniłowicz Shaft, ul. Daniłowicza 10, subject to availability of places not sold online. You choose a specific day, time and language. An online ticket for an individual tourist can be bought no earlier than 90 days before the tour and no later than one hour before it.
A ticket is valid only for the date and time chosen at purchase. The operator limits the Tourist Route to 40 people per group.
Languages
The sales rules say Tourist Route tickets can be bought for tours with guides speaking Polish, English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Ukrainian and Italian. The Miners' Route is available in Polish and English only.
What the tour is like
The practical page says the visit always has a guide, takes 2 to 3 hours and covers about 3.5 km. The temperature underground is 17 to 18 degrees. The route includes about 800 stairs, 380 of them at the start. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the cool air.

Only a small hand bag (up to 20 x 20 x 35 cm) can be taken on the tour. Larger luggage, including strollers and suitcases, should be left in the car or bus or in the cloakroom, which is free but has limited lockers. Card payments are accepted in the food and retail points, and there is a cash machine near the Daniłowicz Shaft. Food is available at the Miners' Inn, 125 m underground, and at a bistro on the surface.
Cancelling
The sales rules include a right to withdraw from a contract, but it does not extend beyond the moment the operator starts the service, for example when the guide is booked for the chosen tour 24 hours before the date. Read the rules for your ticket type before you buy, and contact the mine if you need to change a date.
What the sources do not say
We could not confirm the opening hours for 18 October onward from the page we read, and the mine's page says only that hours depend on the day. The sources do not describe any special conditions for foreigners. A Polish student or Large Family Card is named for discounts, and the sources do not say whether foreign equivalents are accepted, so ask the mine first.
