Włocławek, on the Vistula in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region, has city buses run by Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacyjne (MPK). The official price list is clear and short: a 3.40 zł single ticket valid for 45 minutes, a 12 zł day ticket and a 75 zł monthly pass. It also gives the extra fees for travelling without a ticket. City ticket prices
The MPK page is headed "valid from 1 January 2023", based on a city council resolution of 25 October 2022 and a later amending resolution of 20 January 2023. Check it before you buy passes in bulk. The maximum prices inside the city are:
- Single ticket, valid 45 minutes from validation, with changes allowed: 3.40 zł full, 1.70 zł reduced (50%).
- Seasonal-line single ticket: 3.40 zł full, 1.70 zł reduced.
- Special short ticket for up to 2 stops on one line: 1.70 zł.
- Six-ride booklet (45 minutes per ride): 17.00 zł full, 8.50 zł reduced.
- Day ticket for all city bus lines, valid 24 hours from validation: 12.00 zł full, 6.00 zł reduced.
Luggage larger than 60 x 40 x 20 cm and animals (not a small animal held in the arms) each need their own 3.40 zł ticket.
Passes
Named network passes within the city limits cost:
- Monthly (or 30 or 31 days): 75.00 zł full, 37.50 zł at 50% off, 22.50 zł at the 70% discount.
- Ten days: 34.00 zł, 17.00 zł or 10.20 zł.
- Twenty days: 68.00 zł, 34.00 zł or 20.40 zł.
A monthly bearer pass, which is not tied to a name, costs 99.00 zł for all city lines. MPK states that it does not issue duplicates of a lost, stolen or destroyed monthly ticket, because it treats the pass as a service, not a product (notice dated August 2026).
Outside the city
The same price list has a separate table for lines to neighbouring places that have agreements with the city. A single ticket to Modzerowo costs 3.40 zł, and to Brześć Kujawski it costs 4.40 zł (2.20 zł reduced). Monthly passes cost between 75 and 80 zł for Modzerowo, Wieniec-Zdrój / Brzeska Strefa Gospodarcza and Świętosław, 139 zł for a network pass that also covers Brześć Kujawski or Gąbinek and the city, and 180 zł for all lines beyond the city limits. School pupils pay less. The table is wide and compressed on the MPK page, so check the line you need.
Fines for travelling without a valid ticket
The list gives the additional fee for travelling without a valid ticket as 204.00 zł, which is 60 times the full single ticket. It also shows 142.00 zł and 100.00 zł, and a 20.40 zł handling fee for the procedure of cancelling the additional fee. The page layout is compressed, so we read the lower amounts as the reduced sums for paying within 7 days of the payment request and for paying the inspector on the spot by card. Confirm this with MPK before you rely on it. Travelling without a document that proves your right to a reduced or free ride costs 170.00 zł in the same table, and the additional fee for luggage or an animal without a ticket costs 102.00 zł.
Where to buy
According to MPK's sales page, single tickets, booklets and period tickets are sold at the ticket office at ul. Okrzei 65 (the PKP station). It is open on working days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 7:30 to 15:30, and Tuesday 9:00 to 17:00, with a break from 11:00 to 11:15, and it is closed on weekends and holidays.
