The Polish school-leaving exam, the matura (egzamin maturalny), has a fixed national timetable. The Central Examination Board (CKE) published the 2027 timetable on 20 August 2026. This guide summarises the main dates for students and parents, including the written exam days in May, the oral part, the extra and retake sessions and the date results come out. It follows the CKE notice on the schedule of the eighth-grade exam and the matura in 2027, and the CKE page for school year 2026/2027. Check your school and your regional examination board for the exact place and your personal timetable.

Polish, national minority languages and modern foreign languages are examined orally on dates the CKE gives as 6 to 31 May, except 9, 23, 27 and 30 May. The notice also lists the days in May for the oral parts in different languages. Ask your school for your day.

Graduates who got permission from the director of the regional examination board to sit the exam in the extra term take the written exams from 1 June 2027 (Tuesday, Polish basic level) to 16 June 2027 (Wednesday). The orals for this term are on 7 to 9 June. The notice says the place of the exams will be published on the regional board's site in the last week of May 2027.
Results
The CKE gives 9 July 2027 as the date when results of the main and extra sessions are announced, when schools receive certificates and when graduates get their certificates, annexes and result information.
Retake in August
A retake is open to graduates who sat all compulsory subjects and failed only one compulsory subject, either in the oral or the written part. The written retake is on Monday 23 August 2027 at 9:00, and the oral part (Polish, national minority languages, modern foreign languages) on Tuesday 24 August 2027. The place will be published by 10 August 2027.
Things to check yourself
- Level and format: the notice distinguishes Formula 2023 and Formula 2015 and says that some exams, such as Latin at basic level, business and management and the history of dance, are held only in Formula 2023. Business and management and the history of dance in 2027 are open only to graduates of the four-year general secondary school.
- Exam adaptations: the CKE publishes separate notices on adaptations and on allowed materials. Ask your school.
- Foreign students: the notice does not discuss foreign students or recognition of foreign certificates. Ask your school or the regional board about your case.
