How to Use InPost Parcel Lockers Without Speaking Polish
The essentials: Download the InPost Mobile app, which works in English, and you can collect and send parcels from any of Poland's yellow parcel lockers without speaking a word of Polish. You get 48 hours to collect a delivery, and sending a small parcel costs from PLN 11.49.

Walk down any residential street in Poland and you will pass a wall of bright yellow lockers. These are InPost Paczkomaty, and they quietly run the country's online shopping life: most Polish e-commerce defaults to locker delivery, Allegro sellers expect you to know them, and returns flow through them too. For a new expat the whole system can look intimidating, a touchscreen in a foreign language standing between you and your parcel. In practice you can do everything in English, usually without touching the screen at all. This guide covers collecting, sending, sizes, prices and troubleshooting, based on InPost's official English pages and retail price list, checked on 20 October 2026.
What to know: the InPost Mobile app is the key that unlocks everything. Install it, set it to English, and both collecting and sending become tap-and-go operations that need no Polish whatsoever.
Setting up: the app does the translating for you
InPost's website and its InPost Mobile app both work in English, so the entire system is accessible from day one. Download the app, register with your phone number and e-mail, and you are ready. The app is not just a convenience layer: with the newest screenless App Parcel Lockers it is the only way to open a compartment, since there is no touchscreen to type into at all.
When you shop online, choose parcel locker delivery at checkout and pick a locker near your home or office from the map. Two practical details matter here. First, enter your phone number and e-mail correctly, because your collection codes arrive through them. Second, remember the 25 kg maximum parcel weight for locker deliveries, which covers virtually any ordinary online order.

Collecting a parcel: three ways, zero Polish
When your parcel is delivered to the locker, you get a notification in the app and an e-mail containing two things: a QR code and a 6-digit pick-up code. From that moment the clock starts: you have 48 hours to collect the parcel. Miss the window and the parcel eventually travels back to the sender, so treat the notification as a small deadline.
The fastest method is remote opening. Walk up to your locker, open the shipment in the app and tap "Open the locker remotely". The compartment pops open without you touching the locker screen at all. Take the parcel, confirm receipt in the app, and close the door. This is also the only method at the screenless App Parcel Lockers.
The second method works at any classic locker with a screen: press the scanner window against your phone showing the QR code from the app or e-mail, and the compartment opens. The third method is the fully manual fallback: on the locker screen, choose the collection option, type in your phone number and the 6-digit code from the e-mail, and the door opens. Locker screens offer language selection, so you can switch the interface to English before you start tapping.
If you cannot collect within 48 hours, forward the QR code and pick-up code to someone you trust. Anyone holding the code can open the compartment, which also means you should treat the code like a key and not share it carelessly.

Sending a parcel: no label, no printer, no problem
Sending is where expats usually expect bureaucracy, and where InPost is at its most foreigner-friendly. You do not need a printer, and you do not need to speak to anyone.
The app method works like this. Tap "Send" in the bottom menu, choose the parcel size and delivery method, fill in the recipient and sender details, and pay in the app. You receive a 9-digit sending code and a QR code. No shipping label is required: if you like, you can simply write the 9-digit code on the parcel with a marker. At any locker, tap "Open the locker remotely" in the shipment details, or scan the QR code at the scanner, or enter the code on the locker screen. The compartment opens, you drop the parcel in, close the door, and confirm in the app.
The browser alternative is InPost Quick Send, a web service where you generate the shipment online, pay, and choose between printing a label or going label-free with the same 9-digit code and QR code. Pack the parcel sensibly following InPost's packing guide, since the sender is responsible for securing the contents.
Besides lockers, InPost also runs PUDO points, staffed parcel service points in shops, where you can drop off a shipment created in the app or through Quick Send the same way. Once a parcel is on its way, both sender and recipient can follow it: the app notifies you when the shipment is sent and again when it is delivered to the locker, so there is no guessing whether a package has arrived.

Sizes and prices in 2026
InPost's retail price list for locker-to-door sending has four sizes, all with a 25 kg weight limit except the XS tier, and no fuel surcharge:
- Size XS, 40 x 230 x 400 mm, up to 3 kg: PLN 11.49 from a locker, PLN 14.49 by courier
- Size A, 80 x 380 x 640 mm: PLN 16.49 from a locker, PLN 19.49 by courier
- Size B, 190 x 380 x 640 mm: PLN 18.49 from a locker, PLN 20.49 by courier
- Size C, 410 x 380 x 640 mm: PLN 20.49 from a locker, PLN 25.49 by courier
Every shipment includes additional cover up to PLN 5,000 in the price. One detail in the price list works quietly in your favour: the penalty fees for declaring the wrong size or exceeding dimensions, PLN 4.67 to PLN 23.41 and up, are footnoted as not applying to senders who are consumers. Businesses pay them; you almost certainly do not. Returns through InPost Fast Returns cost a flat PLN 12.99 for sizes A, B and C.

Returns, Allegro and online shopping
For returns, follow the shop's own return instructions first. Many Polish stores and Allegro sellers generate an InPost return shipment for you, which lands in your app or e-mail exactly like an ordinary send: you take the parcel to a locker, scan or enter the code, and drop it in. If the shop leaves the return to you, the Fast Returns service at PLN 12.99 flat is the straightforward route.

When something goes wrong
If a locker will not open, a parcel is missing, or a code never arrives, InPost runs a virtual assistant chat around the clock, seven days a week. For a human, the helpline numbers are +48 722 444 000 and +48 746 600 000, staffed Monday to Friday 7:00 to 22:00, Saturday 8:00 to 20:00, Sunday 8:00 to 18:00 and public holidays 8:00 to 16:00, with calls charged at your operator's rates. Have your tracking or pick-up code ready before you call.
The most common expat mishaps are simple ones: letting the 48-hour window lapse so the parcel returns to the sender, mistyping a phone number at checkout so the code never arrives, or standing at the wrong locker because two sit on the same street. The app's built-in locker map solves the last one, and a glance at the checkout confirmation solves the second.

Frequently asked questions
How long do I have to collect a parcel from an InPost locker?
You have 48 hours from the moment you receive the delivery notification. If you cannot make it, you can forward the QR code and pick-up code to someone you trust to collect it for you.
Do I need the InPost app to collect a parcel?
No. Without the app you can scan the QR code from your e-mail at the locker's scanner, or type your phone number and the 6-digit pick-up code on the locker screen. The app just makes it faster.
What is the biggest parcel I can send from an InPost locker?
Size C, up to 410 x 380 x 640 mm and 25 kg, costs PLN 20.49 from a locker. Parcels over 25 kg or 500 x 500 x 800 mm attract oversized fees.
Does InPost have English-language support?
Yes. The InPost website and the InPost Mobile app work in English, a virtual assistant chat runs 24/7, and the helpline (+48 722 444 000) is staffed Monday to Sunday with published hours.
