The Old Market Square in Poznań

Poznań has the most layered paid parking rules of the big Polish cities. There are three areas, two price lists (one for taxpayers of the city, one for everybody else), and a set of rule changes that took effect on 25 June 2026. The system is run by the city road authority ZDM (Zarząd Dróg Miejskich). This guide uses the official ZDM Poznań price list, published on 30 August 2025, and its announcements from 2026, read in October 2026. Check the ZDM site for new decisions, because a new zone on the Ogrody estate is planned.

The three areas and the hours

ZDM lists three areas:

  • SPP (Strefa Płatnego Parkowania): the wider zone. Paid Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 20:00.
  • ŚSPP Jeżyce: the downtown zone in Jeżyce. Paid Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 20:00.
  • ŚSPP Centrum: the city centre, including the Old Town. Paid Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 20:00.

The shortest time you can pay for is 15 minutes.

Two price lists

Since 1 September 2025, ZDM says there are two tariffs. The cheaper one is for people registered in Poznań who pay their taxes to the city. To get it, you create an account in the OK Poznań programme and add your car's registration number there. The discount is then applied.

Rates for residents who pay taxes in Poznań:

  • SPP: 4.00 zl first hour, 4.70 zl second, 5.50 zl third, then 4.00 zl for each next hour.
  • ŚSPP Jeżyce: 5.50 zl, 6.50 zl, 7.50 zl, then 5.50 zl.
  • ŚSPP Centrum: 7.50 zl, 9.00 zl, 9.90 zl, then 7.50 zl.

Rates for all other drivers:

  • SPP: 5.00 zl first hour, 6.00 zl second, 7.00 zl third, then 5.00 zl.
  • ŚSPP Jeżyce: 7.50 zl, 9.00 zl, 10.00 zl, then 7.50 zl.
  • ŚSPP Centrum: 9.50 zl, 11.00 zl, 13.00 zl, then 9.50 zl.

The penalty

According to ZDM, the additional fee for unpaid parking is 200 zl if you pay within 30 calendar days, and 350 zl after that. Until June 2026 the cheaper window was shorter. The new rules from 25 June 2026 extended it to 30 days.

If you paid for the ordinary zone but parked in a downtown zone, the fee is 130 zl within 30 days and 200 zl later. Parking beyond the paid time, or using a resident badge in the wrong sector, also counts as unpaid parking.

You can pay the fee online at strefa.zdm.poznan.pl, by bank transfer, at the ZDM cash office at ul. Głogowska 18, and, in the SPP Wilda and Łazarz areas only, at a meter by scanning the QR code on the notice. If you think the notice is wrong, you can file a request for review, but ZDM says this does not stop the payment deadline running. Unpaid fees can be collected by enforcement. You can check whether the e-control car registered your vehicle at strefa.zdm.poznan.pl/odszukaj-sprawe.

Resident badge (identyfikator mieszkańca)

The resident badge costs 40 zl per month for a first vehicle and 200 zl per month for a second. ZDM lists these conditions: you are registered at a permanent or temporary address for at least three months in the zone, you pay taxes to the city of Poznań, and you own or co-own the vehicle or use it under a leasing, long-term rental or credit agreement, or an employer's statement for a company car. Disabled badges cost 5 zl a month.

From 25 June 2026, resident badges and permits are only electronic, so you do not get a paper badge for the windscreen. The deadline to apply for an e-badge was shortened from 14 working days before the start date to 7 working days.

Subscription cards

For people who work in the zone, ZDM sells cards for 1 to 25 working days. A day costs 60 zl in the SPP, 80 zl in ŚSPP Jeżyce and 110 zl in ŚSPP Centrum.

What changed in 2026

ZDM's 22 June 2026 announcement lists these changes: electronic badges only, a shorter application period, a 30-day window for the lower fee, a preferential 5 zl a month badge for registered anti-communist opposition activists, and the removal of the permit for low-emission cars up to 95 g/km of CO2, with earlier permits valid until they expire. The council also decided to extend the zone to the Ogrody estate. A governor's ruling questioned the rates set for that area, so new rates were to go to the council in September. ZDM said the zone was planned to start on 2 November. Check the ZDM site for the current state.
