Łódź paid parking 2026: zones, rates, fines, permits
Short answer: In Łódź you pay Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 19:00. The first hour is 6.00 to 6.90 zl in subzone A. The fine is 300 zl. A resident permit costs 365 zl a year.

Łódź changed its paid parking system a lot in 2025 and 2026. The zone is run by the city road authority ZDiT (Zarząd Dróg i Transportu) and is split into three subzones, A, B and C. Since 1 October 2025 there is a new price list, and there are two price levels: one for people with the resident relief (ulga mieszkańca) and one for everybody else. This guide uses the official pages of the City of Łódź, read in October 2026. Prices come from a council resolution, so check the city site for later changes.
When you pay
According to the city's FAQ, you pay at a parking meter or through a mobile app on working days, Monday to Friday, between 7:00 and 19:00. Weekends are free. You pay in advance for the whole time you plan to stay, straight after you park and no later than five minutes after stopping. Charges for each next hour are added together.
The subzones are marked by colour on the parking meter flag: blue for subzone A, orange-yellow for B and green for C. Subzone A is the strict centre. Per the city, a ticket bought for subzone A is valid in A, B and C, but a ticket for B or C does not cover A.
Rates with the resident relief
The city lists these prices from 1 October 2025 for people with the resident relief:
- Up to half an hour: 3.00 zl in A, 2.50 zl in B. In subzone C there is a free half hour once a day on Bałucki Rynek and part of Łagiewnicka street, and 2.50 zl for each extra one.
- 1 hour: 6.00 zl in A, 5.00 zl in B and C.
- 2 hours: 7.20 zl in A, 6.00 zl in B and C.
- 3 hours: 8.60 zl in A, 7.20 zl in B and C.
- Fourth and each next hour: 6.00 zl in A, 5.00 zl in B and C.
Rates without the relief
- Up to half an hour: 3.50 zl in A, 3.00 zl in B and C.
- 1 hour: 6.90 zl in A, 6.00 zl in B and C.
- 2 hours: 8.20 zl in A, 7.20 zl in B and C.
- 3 hours: 9.80 zl in A, 8.60 zl in B and C.
- Fourth and each next hour: 6.90 zl in A, 6.00 zl in B and C.

Who gets the resident relief
The city lists the people entitled to the relief, among them people who settle their income tax in Łódź, students and doctoral students of Łódź universities, and adult pupils of Łódź secondary schools, who use the car under a title such as ownership. The relief is granted after document verification and is linked to a registration number. You apply through the city's online shop for permits and relief, and the city says verification of online documents can take up to five working days. So a foreign student at a Łódź university can be eligible, but check the exact document list with the city.
Payment methods
You can pay at meters with coins and cards, or through mobile apps. The city lists AnyPark, CityParkApp, ePARK, Flowbird Parking, Karta Łodzianina, moBILET, MobiParking/SkyCash and mPay. Enter the correct registration number. A ticket works only for the car whose number is on it.
The additional fee
If you park without a valid ticket or permit, the additional fee is 300 zl, set by a council resolution. The city says this fee cannot be reduced, and that it is not a police fine (mandat) but a charge that arises by law. A ticket bought for another registration number does not protect you, and neither does a ticket for the wrong subzone, when you park in A on a ticket for B or C.
Permits
The city lists these annual prices, valid from 1 October 2025:
- Resident permit: 365 zl a year, which is one zloty a day. It works only in the sector where you are registered, and covers one car of your choice. You must be registered at a permanent or temporary address in the zone and settle your income tax in Łódź for the previous year.
- Open permit (for anyone): priced by subzone, with a lower price list for people with the relief. Check the permit price list for your subzone.
- Disabled card holders: a free permit for up to two years.
- Monthly rail or city ticket holders: a 50 zl monthly permit.
Resident permits are only electronic. They are not refunded if you do not use them, and you apply no earlier than 30 days before the start. The permit is for one registration number, and a replacement car is not covered unless you swap the permit at the office. See also our guide to the Łódź resident card.
Where the zone is
The zone grew. A local news site says it now covers the area above the W-Z route from 1 June, and the Radiostacja estate from 1 October, but check the official map for your street. The A subzone includes the whole of Piotrkowska street.
