The essentials: Warsaw's All Saints 2026 peak plan is published: six cemetery lines (trams C1, C4, C6; buses C09, C13, C40) run on 31 October 9:00-17:00 and 1 November 7:00-19:00, with the C40 also running 26-30 October. A Warsaw tram at the Cmentarz Wolski tram loop

Warsaw's full All Saints 2026 peak plan is out. After the early-October phase we covered two weeks ago, the city has now published the main event: six cemetery lines marked C running through the peak weekend, Saturday schedules on the metro and trams on 1 November, and a dozen reinforced regular lines - with one thing expats should note up front: unlike Poznań, Toruń, Łódź or Silesia, Warsaw has no free-ride day. Full ZTM fares apply everywhere, including on the cemetery lines.

Here is the complete picture for 24 October to 2 November 2026.

The six cemetery lines

Three tram and three bus lines carry the C prefix this year:

  • C1 (tram): Annopol - Cmentarz Wolski - passes the Bródnowski and Powązkowski cemeteries on the way.
  • C4 (tram): Żerań Wschodni - Miasteczko Wilanów - serves the Bródnowski cemetery.
  • C6 (tram): Żerań Wschodni - Cmentarz Wolski - also serves Bródnowski.
  • C09 (bus): Metro Młociny - Cmentarz Północny, main gate - the busiest link; every 7.5 minutes on Saturdays, every 5 on Sundays in the early weekend.
  • C13 (bus): Bródno Podgrodzie - Cmentarz Północny, main gate - every 15 minutes Saturdays, every 10 Sundays.
  • C40 (bus): Metro Młociny - Cmentarz Północny, west gate - every 15 minutes Saturdays, every 10 Sundays; it also runs all working week (see below).

Hours: on the weekend of 24-25 October the tram C lines run 8:00-17:00 every 15 minutes, the bus C lines 9:00-17:00. In the peak days, Saturday 31 October: 9:00-17:00; Sunday 1 November: 7:00-19:00. The C lines' published hours end with 1 November - they do not run on 2 November. Standard ZTM tickets (20-minute, 75-minute, day and period passes) are valid; a 75-minute ticket is 7 zł.

Day by day

  • Saturday 24 - Sunday 25 October: Saturday schedules citywide; all six C lines run (hours above); lines 169, 173, 180, 181, 183, 189, 409 and 500 run more often; bigger vehicles on 110, 122, 169, 173, 181, 183 and 250.
  • Monday 26 - Friday 30 October: the C40 keeps running every 10 minutes; buses 169, 180, 181 and 303 are reinforced, with bigger vehicles on 169, 181 and 303; line 409 runs every 30 minutes on its diverted route past the Bródnowski cemetery gate on Chodecka; line 250 continues to the Północny west gate.
  • Saturday 31 October: C lines 9:00-17:00; the reinforced regulars continue.
  • Sunday 1 November (All Saints' Day): the maximum. C lines 7:00-19:00. Trams run a Saturday schedule with extra frequency on cemetery routes, both metro lines (M1 and M2) run a Saturday schedule, and city buses run Sunday/holiday schedules (with some local L-lines excepted and extra reinforcing courses). The night of 1-2 November uses the Sunday night network.
  • Monday 2 November (All Souls' Day): back to normal working-day service - no C lines, no free rides, no special schedules.

Route changes on regular lines

Between 9:00 and 17:00 on the peak days, several regular lines change:

  • 173: extra courses between Wiatraczna and Brata Alberta, for the cemetery on Korkowa street.
  • 250: runs to the west gate of the Północny cemetery.
  • 409: diverted on Bródno via Matki Teresy z Kalkuty and Chodecka, stopping at the Bródnowski cemetery gate; it skips the Młociny hub and the Północny north gate.
  • 500: extended to Powązki Wojskowe (the Military Cemetery).
  • 727: extended to the Południowy cemetery (Antoninów).
  • 517: new on-request stops Zapustna and Dojazdowa by the cemeteries in Włochy; extra stops also appear near cemeteries in Wilanów, Rembertowo and Wawer.

Cemetery by cemetery

  • Cmentarz Północny (Wólka Węglowa) - Warsaw's largest: C09 from Metro Młociny to the main gate, C40 to the west gate, C13 from Bródno; regulars 181 and 250 reinforced. The metro ride to Młociny plus C09 is the fastest route from the centre.
  • Cmentarz Bródnowski: trams C1, C4 and C6 plus bus C13; regulars 169, 409 and 500 run more often.
  • Powązki and the Military Cemetery (Powązki Wojskowe): tram C1 along Okopowa, plus extended and reinforced buses 180 and 500.
  • Cmentarz Południowy (Antoninów): the extended 727 and cemetery lines.
  • Smaller cemeteries in Włochy, Wilanów, Rembertowo and Wawer get on-request stops rather than dedicated lines.

Tickets, apps and finding your line

Everything runs on the standard ZTM tariff - there is no special All Saints ticket. Buy before you board: ticket machines at metro stations and many stops, the moBILET / mPay / SkyCash apps, or contactless validators inside most vehicles. If you will ride more than twice each way, a 24-hour ticket (15 zł) beats singles, and a weekend ticket (40 zł) covers Friday evening to Monday morning across zones 1 and 2 - handy if you are combining cemetery visits with family in the suburbs. Details are in our Warsaw tickets guide. For live departures use the WTP journey planner or the city app; every C line has its timetable and route map posted at wtp.waw.pl.

If this is your first All Saints in Warsaw

Powązki is the spectacle: Warsaw's most historic cemetery, where the city's famous names rest, becomes a sea of candles after dark on 1 November - and one of the most moving nights a newcomer can witness. The Północny cemetery is the biggest by area and the busiest by crowd size. Etiquette is simple: this is a family and remembrance day, not a tourist event - keep voices low, dress for standing outside in 5-10°C weather, and do not photograph people at gravesides. If you are hosting visiting family, our day trips from Warsaw guide has ideas for the rest of the long weekend.

Driving: leave the car at a P+R

The road authority introduces one-way streets, parking bans and designated bus lanes around most Warsaw cemeteries for the peak days, and the city is explicit: use the Parkuj i Jedź (Park & Ride) lots - they are free for ZTM ticket holders - and let the C lines do the last mile. Expect the worst congestion around Powązki and the Północny cemetery between about 10:00 and dusk.

The practical bits

  • Sunset on 1 November is around 15:55. The most beautiful - and most crowded - hour at Powązki is just after dark, when the candles are lit. Buy flowers and znicze by Saturday: 1 November is a Sunday and a public holiday, so shops are closed.
  • Plan the return trip. The C09 queue at the Północny main gate can be long after dusk; the C40 from the west gate is often the faster way back to the metro.
  • Monday 2 November is a normal working day - normal schedules, normal fares, no cemetery extras.
  • Check before you leave. Operators adjust plans in the peak days; the WTP site and app carry the current C-line timetables and any last-minute diversions.
  • Coming from outside Warsaw? Koleje Mazowieckie and SKM trains run holiday schedules on 1 November - if you are arriving by rail, the metro-plus-C09 combination from the centre is usually the fastest way north.
  • Our All Saints' Day in Poland guide explains the customs. Other cities' plans: Poznań (free), Toruń (free), Łódź (free), Silesia (free, 18 lines), Lublin, Kraków, Gdańsk and Wrocław.
