Poznan All Saints 2026: Free Rides and Cemetery Trams
The essentials: Poznan has published its complete All Saints 2026 plan: rides are free on 1 November, tram 15 runs every 5 minutes to the Milostowo cemetery in core hours, special trams 41, 43 and 46 link the big cemeteries, and the build-up starts on 24 October. Normal fares return on 2 November.

Poznań published its complete All Saints 2026 plan on 22 October - and unlike Warsaw, Łódź or Kraków, everything is already on the table: the full timetable build-up from 24 October to 1 November, the street changes around every major cemetery, and confirmation that rides on 1 November are free. For expats in Poznań this is the easiest All Saints to plan in years.
The two facts to remember: on Sunday 1 November all ZTM rides in Poznań cost nothing, and tram 15 will run every 5 minutes between the city and the Miłostowo cemetery in the core hours. Here is the whole week.
Free rides on 1 November - officially confirmed
The road authority's announcement states it plainly: on 1 November public transport in Poznań is "wzmocniona i bezpłatna" - reinforced and free. The free day comes from the ZTM tariff in force since September 2025, which lists All Saints' Day as a no-fare day across all lines and zones (a detail our free transport on 1 November roundup flagged from the tariff; this year's city announcements now confirm it for 2026). One quirk from past years, worth knowing: on the free day you simply cannot buy a single ticket in the apps - board and ride. Monday 2 November is back to normal fares (a 15-minute ticket is 4 zł; details in our Poznań tickets guide).
The transport plan, day by day
- Saturday 24 - Sunday 25 October: tram 6 extends to the Junikowo loop (about 9:00-16:30), trams 6 and 15 run every 10 minutes in the morning (line 6 down to every 7-8 minutes on Saturday afternoon), bus 177 runs every 15 minutes, and an extra bus 133 links Rondo Śródka with Bogucin every 30 minutes. Ulica św. Antoniego goes one-way 8:00-17:00, diverting buses 189 and 194.
- Monday 26 - Thursday 29 October: completely normal weekday schedules - no cemetery extras.
- Friday 30 October: tram 6 extends to Junikowo again (8:45-16:30), and from 9:00 ulica Cmentarna goes one-way, with bus 122 skipping the Cmentarna Furtka and Cmentarna Parking stops.
- Saturday 31 October: the big build-up. Tram 5 runs to Miłostowo 8:00-17:00 (every 10 minutes 8:00-12:00), tram 6 runs to Junikowo all day, trams 6 and 15 hit every 6-8 minutes, the extra 133 loops Rondo Śródka - Bogucin every 10 minutes (8:00-17:00), and buses 177 and 182 run every 10 minutes, 183 every 15. One-way systems diverting buses start on Złotowska, św. Antoniego and Gnieźnieńska, and suburban buses 342 and 348 detour past the Murowana Goślina cemetery with four temporary stops.
- Sunday 1 November (All Saints' Day): the maximum. Most tram lines (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 97) run every 20 minutes all day on the holiday schedule; trams 1, 7, 8 and 13 run every 10 minutes 8:00-17:00; tram 5 serves Miłostowo and tram 6 serves Junikowo every 10 minutes; and tram 15 runs every 5 minutes between 8:00 and 15:30 (then every 10). Three special lines join in the 9:00-16:00 core: tram 41 (Junikowo - Rataje - Miłostowo) every 10 minutes, tram 43 (Junikowo - city centre - Winogrady - Błażeja) every 10, and tram 46 (os. Sobieskiego - PST - centre - Miłostowo) every 20. Bus 133 loops every 10 minutes 8:00-17:00, and buses 177 and 182 run every 10, 183 every 15. Night services run holiday schedules over the weekend.
The pattern is easy to read: lines 5, 6, 15, 41 and 46 converge on the two giants - Junikowo in the west and Miłostowo in the east - while the 133 bus covers the northern Bogucin cemetery and line 43 climbs to Błażeja past the Umultowo cemetery. MPK's traffic control centre answers questions on the short number 19 445.
Driving: closures, one-way streets and free parking
If you must drive, the road authority (ZDM) has mapped every cemetery:
- Junikowo: on 1 November, Cmentarna and Owcza go one-way from Grunwaldzka to Złotowska, Złotowska one-way from Owcza to Brzechwy, and Wieruszowska one-way from Grunwaldzka. From 5:00, extra parking opens on the left lanes of Grunwaldzka between the Junikowo loop and Cmentarna (both directions) and on Wieruszowska. A 30 km/h limit applies around the cemetery. Police may extend the one-way rules to 24-25 and 30-31 October if traffic demands.
- Miłostowo: parking on narrowed Warszawska (both sides of the north carriageway 24-30 October, both carriageways from Friday afternoon 30 October through 1 November), a supervised pedestrian crossing at the gate, 30 km/h, a truck ban towards the city and kiss-and-ride bays by the entrance. Parking stays possible on 2 November on the narrowed north carriageway.
- Bogucin (Gnieźnieńska): 30 km/h and a weekend truck ban; one-way from the Nivea gate to Bałtycka on 31 October and 1 November; left turn from Gdyńska allowed on 1 November, and a free car park at Gnieźnieńska 55 with a temporary bus stop beside it.
- Górczyn (Arciszewskiego): truck ban Hetmańska - Ściegiennego on both weekends, single-lane running with left-lane parking 24-25 October and again 31 October - 1 November; Ściegiennego bays by the cemetery reserved for people with disabilities; kiss-and-ride at the gate; Kordeckiego one-way from 7:00 on 1 November.
- Smaller cemeteries (Wiśniowa, św. Antoniego, Minikowo, Nowina, Szczawnicka, Morasko, Głuszyna, Krzesiny, Umultowo) get one-way streets, 30 km/h limits or parking rules of their own - check the ZDM notice for your street.
The two cemeteries on most visitors' lists
Junikowo is Poznań's largest cemetery and its most park-like - a 19th-century layout of long avenues where the city's notable families rest, busiest of all on 1 November. Miłostowo, the biggest in the east, draws the crowds that justify a tram every 5 minutes. The customs are the same as across Poland: tidy the grave, lay chrysanthemums, light a znicz lantern, and expect the most beautiful - and most crowded - hour to be just after dusk (sunset on 1 November is about 16:15). Sunday 1 November 2026 is a public holiday with shops closed; Monday 2 November is a normal working day. Our All Saints' Day in Poland guide explains the tradition, and if your weekend includes the market side of the season, the Poznań Christmas market opens on MTP on 14 November.
Other cities' plans: Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Łódź (free rides, permanent), Warsaw and Szczecin.
Practical notes for the day
- Board any door, skip the app. On the free day there is nothing to validate. Expect the busiest trams between about 10:00 and dusk.
- Buy candles and flowers by Saturday. Shops are closed on 1 November; stalls at the cemetery gates sell znicze and chrysanthemums at holiday prices.
- Suburban trips keep normal zone rules the rest of the week. The Murowana Goślina detour (buses 342 and 348) adds four temporary stops right by the cemetery there on 31 October and 1 November - useful if your family graves are north of the city.
- If a line number you rely on is missing, do not panic. Several buses (122, 177, 189, 194, 342, 348) run diverted or skip stops around the cemeteries; the MPK control centre on 19 445 can route you around the changes.
